EV TYre study 2025

EV Tyre Study

EV Tyre Study: Experiences and expectations of electric car drivers when buying tyres

The EV Tyre Study surveys the experiences of electric car drivers when buying and using tyres. The survey focused on purchase criteria, the tyre purchasing process and satisfaction. Respondents were also asked about their opinion on specific EV tyres.

The electric car Tyre Study was conducted online in January 2025 among N = 1,006 e-car drivers in the DACH region. In addition, the survey was conducted with N = 501 drivers of combustion vehicles of all brands. This makes it possible to show how e-cars differ from combustion vehicles when it comes to tyres.

Target group of the survey

For this study owners and drivers of fully battery-electric e-cars were surveyed. The average holding period of the respondents was 2.5 years. Drivers of combustion engines were surveyed for comparison.

Added value and benefit for after-sales organisations and workshop operators

The study is primarily aimed at after-sales organisations of vehicle manufacturers and importers, workshop operators and dealer engineers.

The EV Tyre Study shows the specific information requirements, the selected products and the interest of buyers of an electrical vehicle in special EV tyres. This enables suppliers to improve the strengths and weaknesses of their own offerings. Product managers receive a qualified basis for the development or revision of their own offers and services.

Dashboard for analysis

Many exciting findings only become apparent when the results are evaluated separately according to important customer groups. This allows providers to target their offers to different user segments in a differentiated way. Thanks to the high sample size, subscribers to the study can split the results in the interactive dashboard as they wish and analyse them in detail. In addition, the dashboard shows all pre-clustered verbatim mentions of the respondents.
